The Lockn’ Guitars Have Been Auctioned Off

Recently, we told you all about the Lockn’ Guitar auction that happens every year at the Virginia music festival (read that article HERE). Well, now that the Lockn’ Music Festival has come to a close, it was time to auction off the legendary Lockn’ guitars. This year the guitar was auctioned off for $65,000 to Shawn Kroop of Maui, Hawaii. To say Shawn is happy would be an understatement. Just check out who all signed this custom D’Angelico guitar.
The guitar, which was played by Bob Weir during his set with Billy and the Kids on Saturday night, was signed by several of the Lockn’ artists, including Robert Plant, Carlos Santana, Leon Russell, Warren Haynes, Widespread Panic’s Jimmy Herring, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, all members of the String Cheese Incident and Umphrey’s McGee and more. Also adding their names to the guitar were all four core members of the Grateful dead, Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart.
Wow! That’s quite the lineup! We hope Shawn takes extra care of this amazing guitar. To read more about the Lockn’ Guitars, head over to Relix Magazine.
