Hendrix Tribute Band Makes Legendary Offer

Over 48 years ago, Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchell performed at the Imperial Hotel in Darlington, United Kingdom. In a show that gained importance for the locals due to Hendrix’s almost myth like reputation at the time, ended up being a show remembered because of a stolen guitar.
The theft of the guitar legend’s black Fender Stratocaster is one of the town’s greatest unsolved mysteries. Hendrix played just one gig in the town, performing at the Imperial Hotel – the Imp – in March 1967.
Now, notable Hendrix tribute band, Sundance, have put an amnesty offer on the table for the citizens of Darlington:

‘Return Jimi Hendrix’s guitar and we’ll set up a music foundation’

That’s right. The band pledges to open up a music foundation in Hendrix’s honor as long as someone returns the mysterious guitar. We certainly support this effort and hope someone returns the legendary yet mythical guitar. To read more about this great story, check out the Northern Echo.
