From Police Officer to Guitar Maker

We love coming across these unique guitar stories from various local news channels. This interesting story comes to us from Miami, where a former Miami-Dade police officer has changed careers in a big way. After leaving the force, Rick Sell began making some very unique guitars that are now best sellers.
In 2013, Rick Sell chose to close out a chapter in his life and begin another, creating PureSalem Guitars. The creative idea has since been recognized by the music scene in more ways than one, due to the company’s high-quality, affordable and unique product. “The guitars are designed by me,” said Sell. PureSalem has become a big hit in just a few years. “In the short time that we’ve been around, our brand name has just blown up,” said Sell. “It’s doing extremely well. We’ve been approached by major label artists. We have artists from heavy metal to punk rock to soul, Toni Braxton and Lady Gaga.”
What a cool story. It’s great to hear the success of what was once a start up company that is now selling its guitars to some of the biggest names out there. Congrats Rick! WSVN-TV – 7NEWS Miami Ft.
